General Rules & Requirements
- Applicant must hold a valid CDL learner's permit for at least 14 days before testing.
- CDL Assist does not assist with obtaining a learner's permit. You must handle this through the DMV.
- Federal law prohibits interpreter use during CDL testing. Therefore, CDL Assist cannot accept students who do not speak, read, or understand English proficiently.
Payment Policies
- WV 7% sales tax is added to each class.
- WV B&O tax applies as required.
- A $300 Advance Onsite Training Tuition Payment is required to secure your training time.
- An additional $100 examiner fee must be paid in cash directly to the WV Third Party CDL Examiner at the time of testing.
Testing & ELDT Requirements
- WV CDL testing requires a 48-hour advance notification.
- Students using CDL Assist for skills training must take the ELDT theory course through CDL Assist, OR pay a $100 document processing fee if taken elsewhere.
