CDL Assist LLC Guidelines
*There is a West Virginia 7% sales tax added to each class.
*Applicant must hold a valid CDL learner’s permit for two weeks before taking the course.
*CDL Assist does not offer assistance with obtaining your learner’s permit.
*CDL testing in the state of West Virginia requires 48 hour advance notification.
*Applicants who hold a learner’s permit for other states other than West Virginia must be at least 21 years of age with no “K” restriction.
*Add $300 for ELDT Online Theory Classes
*Anyone using CDL Assist for skills training must take his ELDT theory courses through CDL Assist or pay a $100 document processing fee.
*There is an additional $100 fee that will be paid to the WV Third Party CDL Examiner that must be paid in cash.

Class B (or Class B with E restriction): Equipment: 31,000 pound single axle dump truck with full air brakes and 6-speed synchronized manual transmission. This class is a 4-day course which includes training for the pre-trip inspection, skills test and road test. The truck will be used at the end of the course to take your test. An automatic truck is also available for those wishing to get a Class B with E restriction. An E restriction limits the driver to only vehicles with automatic transmissions. Cost is $800 plus a $150 fuel surcharge. In the event of a failure, the cost for retraining is $600 minus $100 per test successfully completed plus the fuel surcharge
Class B with P Endorsement: Equipment: 33,000 pound bus with full air brakes and automatic transmission. This class is a 4 day course which includes training for the pre-trip inspection, skills test and road test. The bus will be used at the end of the course to take your test. Cost is $800 plus a $100 fuel surcharge. In the event of a failure, the cost of retraining plus bus rental is an additional $600 minus $150 per test successfully completed plus the fuel surcharge.
Class A with O restriction (or Class A with E and O restrictions): An O restriction prohibits you from driving a tractor trailer with a fifth wheel connection, but allows all other types of combination vehicles such as gooseneck or pintle hook, etc. The truck is the same as Class B and the trailer is a 18 foot 12,000 pound ball hitch trailer. An automatic truck is also available for those wishing to get a Class A with E and O restrictions. An E restriction limits the driver to only vehicles with automatic transmissions. This class is a 5-day course which includes training for the pre-trip inspection, skills test and road test. The truck and trailer will be used at the end of the course to take your test. The cost is $1100 plus a $150 fuel surcharge. In the event of a failure, the cost for retraining plus truck rental is $700 minus $100 per test successfully completed plus the fuel surcharge.
Class A with E restriction: An E restriction prohibits you (in some states) from driving a manual shift transmission tractor trailer. This is a perfect class for those who have a Class B license without an E restriction who are looking to upgrade to Class A. Those holding a Class B license without an E restriction would be grand- fathered to Class A without restriction. This class is a 5-day course which includes training for the pre-trip inspection, skills test and road test. The truck and trailer will be used at the end of the course to take your test. The cost is $1100 plus a $150 fuel surcharge. In the event of a failure, the cost for retraining plus truck rental is $700 minus $100 per test successfully completed plus the fuel surcharge.
Class A: Five tractor trailers are available for this class. All trucks are equipped with full air brakes, 10- speed manual unsynchronized transmissions and flat bed trailers. This class is a 5-day course which includes training for the pre-trip inspection, skills test and road test. The truck and trailer will be used at the end of the course on the fifth day to take your test. The cost is $1500 plus a $150 fuel surcharge. In the event of a failure, the cost for retraining plus truck rental is $900 per day minus $100 per test successfully completed plus the fuel surcharge.
All classes require a $250 reservation/documentation fee to guarantee the training time.
